A glossary of big spenders

Christopher Pyne

Feb 19, 2016

As Education Minister, Mr Pyne spent more than $30,000 a week on lobbying for assistance with his plan for $100,000 University Degrees.

This is in addition to a $15 million advertising campaign to sell the dodgy policy to the Australian public.

Now that he’s moved on as the Industry Minister, he should know he’s entering a department with a history of waste.

In the past, staff have enjoyed luxuries such as $11,000 worth of yoga training, and a $45,000 junket to a conference at Mexico’s luxurious Fairmont Pierre Marques.

Pyne should feel right at home in the portfolio.
